Heartland MIXED MEDIA Competition 2025 RULES

1. Mixed Media Nail Art submissions are accepted exclusively as turn-in entries. All art is to be completed prior to the competition.

2. No previous entries allowed.

3. Must be a Licensed Nail Tech or current nail student to enter.

4. Competitors must use a minimum of 3 Mediums -  Airbrush, Acrylic, Aquarelle, Micro Painting, etc. to avoid a 10-point deduction. 

5. Nail embellishments such as rhinestones, pearls, bullions, foil etc. may be used no more than 10% of the entire piece to avoid point deductions.

6. Nothing "Man Made or Machine Made" may be used to include but not limited to- Fimo, decals, stickers etc

7. ALL entries must consist of a minimum of 5 or a maximum of 10 individual graduated manufactured tips to mimic a real person and be wearable. Using one size only tips will result in point deductions or disqualification. Nail tips may not be constructed by a layperson and are required to come from a manufacturer’s box.

8. Tips are to be separate and not attached for view in all angles.

9. Nails are to be designed on nail tips and placed on a 5 X 7, one solid color background and on a flat surface. A display not in the proper size may result in 10-point deduction or disqualification.

10. Nails must be no longer than 2 inches in length, maximum of ½ inch in height and or ½ inch around.

11. Competitors must prepare and submit a written statement in two parts:

1)  Detailing products and process used to create the art without naming specific brands or manufacturers written in English

2) Telling the story of interpretation of the theme written in English

12. All entries must be created by the Competitor only and submitted (in person) by 10am, 08/17/25. Do not print your name on your piece. 

13. Registration Fee is $30 and you do not need to be present to win. Use this payment address and place Heartland Nail Competition in Memo/Note box. Other payment methods contact DeeDee Desbiens directly.

14. A 1st, 2nd & 3rd place will be given along with a participation certificate.

15. Mailed entries must be received no later than 5pm on 08/14/25. NO EXCEPTIONS. 

16. RETURN PAID SHIPPING arrangements is the competitor’s responsibility.
